Oldest Church In Serbia Discovered?

In vicinity of Raca monastery in central Serbia, archaeologists have discovered foundation of basilica which is assumed to date from 4th century.

The experts have excavated and conserved the central and northern part of basilica with half-meter high walls, preserved floors and wall paintings.

Until now, Petar’s Church located in Novi Pazar was considered to be the oldest in Serbia, presumably built in 850.

Beyonce Kicks Off Her Tour In Serbia

Popular music star Beyonce’s tour entitled “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” will start tomorrow with a concert in Belgrade.

Beyonce landed at “Nikola Tesla” airport yesterday around 15h from where she went to Kombank Arena in Belgrade, where she had a rehearsal which lasted several hours.

At her tour she will promote the new album from which several songs have been announced in concert commercials, but she will also perform her well-known hits.

Beside audience from Serbia, it is expected that fans from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will also attend the concert. After Belgrade, Beyonce continues her tour in Zagreb, Bratislava, Amsterdam, Paris, London and other European cities.

Beside Atoms For Peace, Snoop (Dogg) Lion, Bloc Party, DJ Freshlive, Dubfire, Seth Troxler, Pan-Pot, Skism, Friction & Linguistics, Inspector, Apollonia, Deniz Kurtel, Fatboy Slim and many others, Cee Lo Green has also confirmed his performance at the Exit festival.

This 39-year-old performer is very popular in Serbia, and his arrival, judging by the comments on forums and social networks, will also make the international audience happy.

Music festival EXIT which takes place in Novi Sad, city in north of Serbia, will last for five days next year – from 10th to 14th of July. Like every year, it will be held at the medieval Petrovaradin fortress.

Lineup of bands and artists who will perform at 2013 Exit festival, one of the best music festivals in the world, is slowly forming.

Six-Year-Old’s Art Among Best In Hong Kong

At the international children’s art competition in Hong Kong, work from Serbia was awarded as one of the top ten, out of 11.500 works sent from 52 countries.

The author of the work is six-year-old Milja Momcilovic, member of Children’s Cultural Center Art atelier, led by painters Goran Simic and mr Katarina Bulajic Pavlovic.

Beside this award, sixteen-year-old Anastasija Djukic was also praised at the same competition. She is also member of the Children’s Cultural Center Art atelier.

Group ‘Moje 3’ To Represent Serbia At ESC 2013 (Video)

Vocal group “Moje 3” will be Serbian representative at 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malme, Sweden.

They won with the song “Ljubav je svuda” (Love is everywhere) thanks to audience votes at the contest organized by the Serbian National Television RTS.

5 best out of 15 songs were chosen yesterday, and tonight’s SMS voting sent “Moje 3” to Sweden.

Serbia achieved greatest success at ESC in 2007 when Marija Serifovic won at this competition.
