Salvation For Red Star?

Dragan Dzajic, one of the best players in history of Red Star football club and it’s former director, has returned to club management.

Dzajic will be head of a working group until a new club director is selected. Former director, also famous Red Star player – Vladan Lukic, resigned yesterday.

In his explanation Mr. Lukic stated that he didn’t manage to win Serbian championship in three years and make Red Star get into European competitions.

It is expected from Dragan Dzajic to lower the debts Red Star accumulated over the years. However, a court investigation is still being led against Dzajic that he illegally appropriated money from players’ transfers while he was director last time.

Deputy PM of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who talked with Dzajic about his return to club management, said that Red Star owes 18 million euros to banks in interests only.

It is estimated that the total debt of 1991. European champion is around 60 million euros.
