Serbian Football Referees Return To The Top

The most prominent Serbian football referee, Milorad Mazic, has been calling the shots at the latest UEFA Champions League match between Manchester United and Braga, played at Old Trafford last night, October 23.

Aided by his assistants, Milovan Ristic and Igor Radojcic, he resolved several disputes and difficult situations with the utmost precision and professionalism.

After Braga’s two goals to nil lead, Mazic kept a large number of contacts between players under control. His timely reactions maintained a high level of sportsmanship throughout the game. Since he showed as few as two yellow cards during such an important match, it is obvious Mazic preserved his authority among both teams throughout the game.

Milorad Mazic opened this Champions League season by refereeing the match between Barcelona and Moscow Spartak.

Milorad Mazic became a FIFA referee in 2009. He is a UEFA Elite Development Category ref after having been a Category 1 referee for two years.

He is one of 52 international referees who have been preselected by the FIFA to referee the games of the 2012 World Cup.
