Chelsea have reportedly struck a deal for FK Partizan Belgrade sensation Lazar Markovic. The 19-year-old is reported to have pre-agreed a contract with the blues and he could join in the summer for a fee around £6million.
The 19-year-old striker is expected to ignore interest from Inter Milan and Liverpool to join the Blues this summer.
Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is playing his part, urging his fellow countryman to join him at Stamford Bridge.
Also, Avram Grant is helping Chelsea to sign the hottest prospect in Serbian football. The former Blues boss spent five months at Partizan Belgrade last season and led them to their fifth consecutive title.
Lazar Markovic (18), one of the most talented Serbian football players, member of the national team and Partizan FC, signed a contract with London’s Chelsea and will become a member of that football club in June this year, writes Belgrade daily “Sportski zurnal”.
Sportski zurnal reports that Markovic has already met his future team players, and that Serbian national team captain Branislav Ivanovic is helping him get to know new environment.
The club organized a dinner in Markovic’s honor, with such guests as Brаnislаv Ivаnovic, Mаrko Mаrin and Chelsea’s and English national team deputy captain Frаnk Lаmpаrd.
Markovic has a contract with Partizan until June 2013.
Last major transfer on relation Partizan-England was Adem Ljajic’s and Zoran Tosic’s, who went to Manchester United in 2009.
