Nemanja Matic Linked In Move To Manchester United

According to The Observer, Manchester United have made inquiries about Benfica star Nemanja Matic as Alex Ferguson tried to find a top-quality central midfielder.

Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic’s agent is not surprised that his client has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Juventus.

“With how Matic is doing it is normal that clubs are interested in him,” Matic’s agent, Dejan Mitrovic told Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Matic has recently signed a new five year deal, so will come at a price, but according to the report – United’s scouts have been impressed with the Serbian international who has notched up five goals so far this term.

The 25 year old has featured only five times for Serbia.

Vidic Among Best XI Of The Sir Alex Ferguson Era

According to the analysis of the respectable sports website, the captain of the 19-times English champion Nemanja Vidic is among the best 11 players of Manchester United coached by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Beside him, the ideal team includes the goalkeeper – Peter Schmeichel, right back – Gary Neville, left back – Dennis Irwin, centre back – Rio Ferdinand, right midfield – Cristiano Ronaldo, left midfield – Ryan Giggs, centre midfield – Paul Scholes, other centre midfield – Eric Cantona, strikers Wayne Rooney and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

31-year-old Nemanja Vidic has played 260 games in his six years in Man United, scoring 19 goals.

Lazar Markovic Goes To Chelsea FC

Lazar Markovic (18), one of the most talented Serbian football players, member of the national team and Partizan FC, has traveled to London before the winter break started in the Serbian championship.

Almost all media in Serbia published that the reason for his travel is not simply a desire to see the Great Britain’s capital, but a visit to Stamford Bridge stadium where he would arrange for all the details of transferring to Chelsea FC.

Markovic has a contract with Partizan until June 2013.

Sports director of Partizan FC Ljubisa Tumbakovic claims that he did not know anything about Markovic’s reasons for traveling to London, but reminded that several big European football clubs expressed interest in Markovic, after seeing him play in Serbian national team and in Partizan European games. One of those clubs was Internazionale from Milan.

Last major transfer on relation Partizan-England was Adem Ljajic’s and Zoran Tosic’s, who went to Manchester United in 2009.
